Purpose of the Consultancy
The consultant will help MEPCO improve workplace safety, health standards, and safety culture within power distribution operations. The focus is on reducing accidents, improving safety awareness, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Additional qualification in:
- Occupational Health & Safety
- Industrial Safety
- Wellbeing Counseling
- Behavioral Modification or related field
Required Experience
- Minimum General Experience: 10 years
- Minimum Specific Experience: 5 years in power distribution companies
- Regional or Country Experience: Required
Key Skills and Knowledge
The candidate should have:
- Practical experience working with electric power utilities
- Experience in:
- GAP Analysis
- Individual Counseling Sessions (ICS)
- Behavior-based safety programs
- Strong knowledge of:
- Occupational Health & Safety best practices
- Electrical safety
- Experience in:
- Safety training programs
- Train-the-Trainer sessions
- Cultural change management
- Familiarity with gender inclusion in workplace safety (preferred)
- Good command of English language
Key Deliverables and Timeline
1. Final Safety Framework and Action Plan
- Submission Date: 31 December 2026
- Description: A complete safety framework aligned with power distribution risks and regulatory requirements
2. Training Modules and Workshops
- Submission Date: 30 April 2026
- Description: Development of safety training materials and workshops
3. Final Impact Report
- Submission Date: 20 January 2027
- Description: Report showing program results, reduction in incidents, and recommendations for long-term safety culture
